Boards and Commissions at the City of Loveland serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council.  A board or commission has been established for the primary policy topics critical to the operation of Loveland city government.  Members are appointed by City Council based on their personal and professional backgrounds relevant to the policy topic.  The Boards and Commissions structure provides an excellent opportunity for community participation in policy-making at the City of Loveland.

Typically boards and commissions meet monthly to develop recommendations to City Council on community issues specific to their area of expertise.  Each board or commission has a City Council and a staff liaison that attend each meeting.  The City Council liaison ensures that there is a direct communication link with the City Council. The staff liaison ensures that the board or commission has access to accurate information on current policy and operations.  The staff liaison also ensures that agendas and minutes are prepared to assist the chairperson in effective meeting management.

If you are looking for a way to help shape the future of Loveland, serving on a board or commission is one of the most meaningful ways to contribute.  Join us in our quest to make Loveland the best it can be!
