Enjoy a look at the history of mosaic around the Western World and see this ancient art form’s new, contemporary interpretations. In addition to the presentation, attendees will receive a glossary and descriptions of a variety of mosaic materials and methods. The lecture is open to artists of various levels and mediums. The presentation consists of a video on the history of mosaic and a PowerPoint of modern mosaics. Demonstrations of the various tools used and the mosaic process will follow the presentation. Various mosaic artists will participate in these demonstrations.
Marlea Taylor - B.A., Art/History, Ohio University, M.F.A., Printmaking, Michigan State University, 7 pieces in the State of Colorado collection, 31 years in Art Education, former Vice President of Colorado Mosaic Artists.
Kathy Thaden - a professional member of the Society of American Mosaic Artists and founding member and past President of the Colorado Mosaic Artists.
