Floodplain Mapping Open House

  • Date: 11/14/2018 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Location: Public Works Administration Building
    2525 West 1st Street
    Loveland, Colorado 80537
  • Introduction: Draft floodplain mapping information will be presented by the Larimer County Engineering Department and the City of Loveland Public Works Department. The open house will introduce updated flood risks in Larimer County and the City of Loveland as a result of the September 2013 Flood.

The Big Thompson River and the Dry Creek tributary draft floodplain maps will be displayed at the open house. Draft floodplain maps are also now available on the following two web sites:

City of Loveland Flood Management website: http://www.cityofloveland.org/departments/public-works/stormwater/flood-management

Larimer County Engineering Department Floodplain website (includes links to Larimer County floodplain regulations and Flood Information Locator): www.larimer.org/engineering/floodplains

The draft floodplain maps are from the Colorado Hazard Mapping Program [CHAMP] by the Colorado Water Conservation Board, [CWCB], which is the lead agency coordinating CHAMP.

Property owners along these waterways can view the draft floodplain maps to see if a flood risk exists on or near their property, learn about the changes, and ask questions. The open house is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a short presentation at 5:30 p.m.
