Loveland Cemeteries Host Spring Clean-up Weekend
Contact: Troy Griebe, 962-2430
Families and friends with loved ones interred at Loveland Burial Park and Lakeside Cemetery are invited to take part in a spring clean-up April 23-24.
Loveland’s park-like cemeteries are widely recognized for their beauty, partly because they are maintained by the Loveland Parks and Recreation Department staff. But over the course of time, some gravesites become overgrown with personal plantings or feature old or faded graveside decorations.
“We love these places, and we know that members of the Loveland community do, as well,” cemetery supervisor Troy Griebe said. “This is an opportunity for us all to work together to make them even better places.”
Cemetery staff members will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24 providing tools such as rakes, pruners, shovels and wheelbarrows and receptacles for removed plant materials and old decorations. Participants can meet at the cemetery offices at 1702 N. Cleveland Ave.
Alternative dates, in the event weather forces postponement, are April 30 and May 1. The cemetery staff hopes to have the grounds in the best possible condition by Mother’s Day, May 8.
