Power Shut Off Scams

Post Date:04/18/2016 3:30 PM

Loveland Water and Power has received a number of reports from both businesses and residents of a telephone scam.

A telephone caller poses as a Loveland Water and Power employee. The caller threatens to shut off the customer’s power unless an immediate payment is made. In many cases, the customer is told to use a pre-paid debit card, or a money transfer service.

Customers who have concerns about callers claiming to represent Loveland Water and Power should hang up and dial (970) 962-2111 to reach Utility Billing directly. Customers are reminded to never give out personal or financial information to an unsolicited caller.
