LOVELAND, May 6, 2016 – Loveland’s Fairgrounds Park Farmers Market is hosting more than 40 vendors for its 2016 season and will offer a fun Sunday outing in the park for all ages from June 26-Sept. 25, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
In addition to shopping for fresh local produce, meat, cheese, baked goods, locally made honey and beverages, handcrafted items and more, market-goers can enjoy live music every week along with the Front Range Food Rally on the last Sunday of every month.
On June 26, July 31, Aug. 28 and Sept. 25, the Front Range Food Rally will bring food trucks and a beer garden with local craft beers to the market to benefit the Larimer County Food Bank. Other weeks there will be one or two food trucks such as Waffle Lab, Gunter’s Bavarian Grill, Seasonal Soups & Salads and Bedrock BBQ.
Other 2016 highlights for Fairgrounds Park Farmers Market include Blood Drives benefitting Northern Colorado hospitals on June 25, July 17 and Sept. 11, a face painter weekly, and nutritional cooking demonstrations for kids and adults by Sapna Von Reich, "Food for Life" class instructor.
“Loveland has many beautiful parks and is the gateway to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, making Fairgrounds Park Farmers Market the perfect place for locals and tourists to pick up fresh, local picnic items and hiking foods,” said Jeanne Boswell, market manager for the City of Loveland. “The number of vendors and activities continues to grow at the market, and it is an entertaining way to spend a Sunday.”
The City of Loveland reclaimed the former Larimer County Fairgrounds and transformed it into Fairgrounds Park in 2008 and launched the Fairgrounds Park Farmers Market in the park’s two large pavilions in 2010. Shoppers and vendors can enjoy buying and selling in the shade, plus there is a splash park, playground, dog park, as well as a nearby softball complex, skate park and basketball courts. Fairgrounds Park is flanked by Loveland’s recreation trail system and the Big Thompson River providing easy access to bike to the market, walk the trails, fish the river or simply enjoy the beauty of Loveland.
