Contact: Tom Hacker, 962-2302
Just prior to the Feb. 7, 2017 City Council meeting, outgoing City Clerk Terry Andrews swore in her successor, Beverly Walker, in a brief ceremony in the City Clerks office with clerks staff looking on.
Walker’s first order of business in her new role as Loveland’s Acting City Clerk was to attend and perform normal clerk duties at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
Walker assumes her new role as Andrews downsizes to a new 20-hour per week position working on special projects from her new home in Missouri where she and her husband will retire. Andrews will also assist and advise the clerks office on elections and other operational issues as needed. Andrews had served as City Clerk since 2006.
Before joining the Clerks as deputy in May 2015, Walker held positions in the Parks and Recreation Department, the Current Planning Division and the Community Partnership Office. Walker has been with the City of Loveland since 2008.
Clerk Kirsten Gjelde-Bennett will now serve as Acting Deputy City Clerk. Both Walker and Gjelde-Bennett will remain in their respective roles through the end of the year.
