Loveland’s home-grown Children’s Day event will be celebrated from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 10 at the City’s Civic Center, 500 E. Third St. in downtown Loveland.

The event, now in its 15th year, was founded by long-time resident Annie Hall who believed that children deserved a day totally dedicated to their celebration and enjoyment.

Last year, more than 2,500 children and their parents attended the event. This year, the City of Loveland and Thompson School District will again join forces to provide an afternoon of fun activities dedicated to kids of all ages.

All activities take place at the City Civic Center, Foote Lagoon, Chilson Recreation Center and Loveland Public Library.

This year’s event features:

  • ‘Touch a Truck’ – police cars, fire engines, trash trucks, road graders and more

  • Live entertainment from Wayne & Wingnut and other youth performance groups

  • Sports Demos: SNAG Golf, skateboarding and more

  • Story time, puppet shows at the library

  • Crafts and class demos at the Chilson Recreation Center

  • Bike rodeo and helmet fittings

  • Safe Kid ID kits

  • Face painting

  • Food for sale from Bedrock BBQ; I Scream; Kona Ice; SYNC Club

  • Free child visits at Chilson Recreation Center with a paying parent/guardian

  • Vendor and sponsor booths and activities

Attendees under the age of 18 can pick up a passport at one of five passport stations located at the Library, Chilson Center or around the Foote Lagoon. The passports can be stamped at each of the stations as well. If visitors collect three stamps, they are eligible for mini-prizes. If they collect all five stamps they can enter a drawing for grand prizes.

Parking will be available in City of Loveland lots and along city streets. A map of downtown parking can be found here:

Representatives from City departments including Cultural Services, Facilities Management, Fire Rescue Authority, Library, Parks and Recreation, Police, Streets and Traffic, Stormwater, Water & Power work with the Thompson School District to plan and hold Colorado Children’s Day every year.
