Samantha Everett, who has served for five months as Loveland’s acting Chief Building Official, has emerged as the choice to fill the position permanently.
Everett was among finalists interviewed Dec. 10 for the Building Division’s top job and was the consensus pick of two search panels, one made up of City employees, the other including Larimer County and City of Fort Collins chief building officials.
Everett began her City of Loveland service in March 2017 as a building inspector. By August of that year, she had been promoted to inspector supervisor. She began her term as acting Chief Building Official in July 2018.
Her prior experience includes an 11-year term as building code director in Swatara Township in Harrisburg, Penn. She also served five years as code enforcement officer in Harrisburg. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Drexel University, an Associate’s Degree from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and numerous certifications from the International Code Council.
Her selection to the permanent post was based partly on her recent work in creating policies designed to improve customer service and foster coordination across the City’s Development Services organization.
