Wilson Waterline Replacement
Contact: Carlos Medina, 970-962-3716
Loveland Water and Power (LWP) will replace a 45-year-old water line beneath Wilson Avenue spanning from Eisenhower Boulevard to 22nd Street in west Loveland. Crews repaired eight leaks in the last three weeks on the cast iron line that fell victim to soil corrosion and broke open in several places. The pipe replacement project may cost $1.5 million and cause traffic diversions on Wilson Avenue for four months.
Crews will replace the aging iron pipe with a corrosion-resistant PVC line that could remain in service for 100 years.
Customers may experience short, periodic water outages during the pipe replacement. However, water outages will be limited to late night hours to lessen impact on customers. Traffic will be limited to two lanes, one lane each way on Wilson Avenue until late March.
