Post Date:02/08/2019 1:04 PM

School District Art Show 2019On Saturday, March 9, artwork from 350+ up-and-coming Loveland and Berthoud artists will be on view in the Main Gallery at the Loveland Museum. The best part? These talented artists managed to create their masterpieces while juggling homework, after school activities, and the active lifestyles of 21st century children.

Local Motion, the Thompson School District Student Art Show 2019, is an art exhibition highlighting 160 two and three-dimensional works by Loveland and Berthoud students. Local Motion, will feature artwork that explores student interpretations of motion (fly, hike, etc.) through art. The annual exhibit, which is displayed at the Loveland Museum every other year, coincides with National Youth Art Month (observed annually in March) and features artwork by students in Kindergarten through 12th grade from the areas of photography, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, collage, painting, and drawing.

The annual exhibition is part of the ArtSteps program, which was created by the Loveland Museum and the Thompson School District in 2000. ArtSteps’ overall goals are to affirm community appreciation for young artists by displaying their artwork in a professional setting, as well as fostering relationships between local artists and students.

Local Motion is open to the public Saturday, March 9 - Sunday, April 21 during regular Museum hours. Admission is $7 per person and free for Museum members. Admission is free during Night on the Town on March 8 and April 12 from 5 - 9 pm. In addition, admission will be free on Exhibit Free Days, March 20 and April 19.

A public opening reception will take place on Friday, March 8, from 4 - 6 pm. For questions related to Local Motion exhibit or other upcoming exhibitions and events at the Museum, call the Museum at (970) 962-2410 or visit the Museum’s website at www.lovelandmuseumgallery.org.
