In the interest of safety and security of employees who work in the Loveland Civic Center complex, and of residents who visit the Civic Center to conduct business, new rules addressing hours of operation and access take effect Tuesday, Oct. 1.
City Hall and the adjacent Annex at 500 E. Third St. will be open and available for use by the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Civic Center complex, including the outdoor plaza area and Civic Center Park, will close to the public at 10:30 p.m. nightly.
The Civic Center complex incorporates City Hall and the adjoining Annex with the Loveland Public Library, Hatfield Chilson Recreation Center, Senior Center and Civic Center Park’s Foote Lagoon and plaza. City Hall and the Annex house the City’s administrative offices and accommodate meetings of the City Council and volunteer boards and commissions. The remaining Civic Center campus is accessed and used by City residents for various events, meetings and leisure activities.
A number of other safety regulations for the complex are outlined in a document just released by City administration that addresses such issues as littering, graffiti, use of alcoholic beverages on City premises and rules pertaining to pets, wildlife, skateboards, and other considerations.
