Residents invited to join the 2020 Walk and Bike Month Celebration
Contact: Jodi Lessman, Assistant to the Director, Public Works, 962-2555
June is Walk and Bike Month in Loveland and a time to celebrate people walking and biking. During the entire month, the City’s Public Works Department is encouraging people to leave their cars at home occasionally to enjoy riding their bicycle or going for a walk.
The month’s activities start with the KEEP MOVING NoCo Challenge. This is a regional opportunity for household-based teams to compete virtually and earn points for being physically active during June. Four “virtual walking tour” videos will provide an overview of some of Loveland’s public art, history, and local transportation and planning projects. “Hunt for the Heart” is another virtual activity where residents and businesses are encouraged to print out the Walk and Bike Month heart logo and place it in their window to show support for people walking and biking in our community.
Like other neighboring communities, Loveland has postponed its annual “Bike to Work Day” celebration until September.
