Shelter to Open
Once again, the City of Loveland will open
its Pulliam Building as a daytime shelter. Based on weather predictions
of a high temperature less than 30 degrees, the building will be made
available 8:00am.–5:30pm., Wednesday, Jan. 31st–Sunday, Feb. 4th, 2007
The City is actively seeking to create a
pool of volunteers to assist when the shelter is operating. To
volunteer, please contact Will Gresham at 461-8149 or 215-6831. All
volunteers must complete the City’s volunteer application and disclosure
form prior to serving at the shelter.

Shelter to Expand
Hours
in Severe Cold
Earlier this week the City of Loveland committed to opening its
Pulliam Building as a daytime shelter from 8:00am-5:30pm Wednesday,
Jan. 31st- Sunday, Feb. 4th. With wintry morning weather forecast to
be in the single digits, accompanied with wind chills well below zero,
a person could experience frostbite in as little as 30 minutes
outside, according to Merlin Green, the City’s Emergency Manager.
Effective Friday, Feb. 2nd, the daytime shelter will expand its hours
to 7:00am–5:30pm and will continue to
operate through Monday, February 5th. Determinations as to whether
the shelter will open later next week will be made with more current
forecasts at the beginning of the week.
