Local cultural enriches eyes, ears and
economy
Loveland’s art, artists and
the business of art enrich our eyes, ears and economy. Members of the
City’s Cultural Services Department discuss Loveland’s internationally-
recognized cultural character during this month’s “Loveland’s Talking”
on cable TV channel 16.
The history of the Loveland
Museum/Gallery as well as its offerings to adults and youngsters makes
up part of the discussion. The history of the Rialto Theater, its
popularity and success is also discussed.
Loveland’s popular series of
concerts, festivals and other events are highlighted. Discussion also
focuses on the City’s Art in Public Places program.
In addition, the guests
present information on a national study that details how nonprofit art
and cultural enterprises have a major economic effect both nationally
and locally.
“Loveland’s Talking” is part of the
City’s Programs of Interest segment on channel 16. This month’s segment
includes two additional programs.
Menopause is an unavoidable
fact of life for women. Many dread the hormonal changes and associated
symptoms. But menopause doesn’t have to be difficult and in fact, can be
a life-changing and liberating experience for many women that some claim
they wouldn’t trade. In this issue of Boston City TV’s “About Health”
series, Jeanne Blake and her guests discuss menopause including more
modern drug therapies and other strategies for making this transition
smooth and comfortable.
The other Programs of
Interest video shows how the City of Loveland is currently working with
Colorado State University to test an innovative mixture of old tire
rubber and soil to be used as road filler.
Antonio Carraro, assistant professor of
civil and environmental engineering at Colorado State University is
working with Loveland Civil Engineer Tom Knostman and a large team to
apply and test a mixture of expansive soil and scrap tire rubber just
below the pavement of a 200-foot, low-volume stretch of road near I-25.
This program explores this experiment and discusses the potential
environmental and monetary benefits.
Programs of Interest is presented every month
on Loveland cable TV channel 16:
Mondays and Fridays at 8 a.m.
Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m.
Wednesdays and Sundays at 4 p.m.
