Loveland receives budget presentation award

The presentation of the City of Loveland’s budget has again received a prestigious award.  For the 20th consecutive year, Loveland has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

The award reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting.  The award recognizes Loveland for satisfying nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation, including a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communications device.

Loveland Budget Officer John Hartman and the City’s budget division were presented a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Preparation in conjunction with the major award.

Since the awards program began in 1984, recipients have pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other governments throughout North America.

GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving 14,000 government finance professionals throughout North America.  The award program is the nation’s only governmental budgeting award program.
