Q.  Is there a restriction on where vehicles can be parked on private property?
A.  There is no restriction on where registered vehicles can be parked on private property.  Under the current Loveland Municipal Code there is nothing to prohibit a person from parking there registered vehicles anywhere on their property.
Q.  How many vehicles are allowed at a property?
A.  There is no limit to the number of registered vehicles maintained at a property.  However, there is a restriction on the number of unregistered vehicles.  Each property is allowed up to one unregistered vehicle as long as it is either tarped or completely concealed from view.
Q.  Can my neighbor, or my neighbor's guests,  park their vehicle in front of my house?
A.  Parking on public streets is not reserved.  Registered vehicles can be parked in any lawful parking space on a public street.
Q.  Can my neighbor park their boat or trailer on their property?
A.  Yes, boats and trailers are not considered vehicles, so they are not subject to the requirements of vehicles.
Q.  Can my neighbor park their boat or trailer on the street?
A.  This is enforced by the Loveland Police Department (970) 667-2151, but generally the boat or trailer must be connected to a registered vehicle and moved at a minimum of every 72 hours.
Q.  How many people are allowed to live within a dwelling unit?
A.  The Loveland Municipal Code states no more than 3 unrelated people may reside within a dwelling unit.  It does not restrict the number of family members (including extended family) allowed to live within a dwelling unit.
Q.  Can I operate a business out of my home?
A.  It depends on the type of business.  For more specific information contact the Current Planning Division at (970) 962-2525 for additional assistance.
Q.  How tall can my fence or hedge be?
A.  This depends on where you live.  Generally speaking, rear yard fences can be a maximum of 6'3".  Side yard fences can be either 3' or 4' depending on their location and type of construction.  All fences shall be constructed on your property.  If you live in an area with a Home Owner's Association, be sure to check with them for any additional requirements.
Q.  Are there restrictions on the types of signs allowed within the City limits?
A.  All permanent signs must have an approved sign permit associated with it.  For more specific information contact the Current Planning Division (970) 962-2525 for additional assistance.
Q.  Are there restrictions on temporary signs?
A.  Some temporary signs are allowed (if permitted) for extended periods of time.  For more specific information contact the Current Planning Division (970) 962-2525 for additional assistance.
Q.  What about signs like temporary real estate signs, property for sale signs, garage sale signs.
A.  Temporary signs are allowed on private property advertising that specific property.  Directional signs on other properties and road rights-of-way are not allowed in the City of Loveland Municipal Code.
Q.  What if my neighbor has uncontrolled weeds in their lawn?
A.  Weeds over 6 inches in height can be considered a code violation.

Q.  Who do I call if excessive dust is blowing from construction sites?
A.  Report dust complaints to the City of Loveland Engineering Department at (970) 962-2510.
Q.  Who do I call if trash and debris is blowing from construction sites?
A.  Report trash and blowing debris to City of Loveland Code Enforcement at (970) 962-2506.
Q.  Who do I call if my neighbor's property is littered with trash and rubbish?
A.  Report trash and rubbish to City of Loveland Code Enforcement at (970) 962-2506.
Q.  Who do I call with noise complaints?
A.  Report noise complaints to the Loveland Police Department at (970) 667-2151.
