Highlights of the Mural Program:
- Building owners may present an artistic concept to VAC or VAC can hire an artist on owner’s behalf. If the VAC hires an artist, the business owner will work alongside the Visual Arts Commission and remain involved in the artwork decision-making processes.
- The City shall have no direct ownership of the mural. The owner shall maintain the mural in good condition and in a manner that will honor the original intent of the Artist through the timely removal of dust dirt, grime or vandalism.
- The mural and the Contractor’s business will be included in the Art in Public Places Mural Program marketing materials and on the City’s Art in Public Places webpages.
The Contractor is responsible for securing any and all City permits and approvals for the Mural prior to the release of grant funds.
Building owners interested in pursuing this art grant should contact Suzanne Janssen, Public Art Manager to discuss the details.
