How You Can Care for the Earth Right Here in Loveland

Earth Day is April 22. This year's theme is End Plastic Pollution. We've got a few tips for you on how you can make a difference in Loveland Parks and throughout the community to care for our little corner of the planet.

Did You Know?

79% (5.5 billion U.S. tons) of plastic waste has accumulated in landfills and the natural environment. 12 billion metric tons (13.2 billion U.S. tons) will enter landfills or the environment by 2050 if current production and waste management trends continue. Tips to End Plastic Pollution

Pick Up Trash at Loveland Amenities

Any time you're enjoying one of our Loveland parksLoveland golf coursesLoveland open lands and trails or spending time at the Chilson Recreation Center or Chilson Senior Center, do your part to make it better. If every person stopped to pick up even a few pieces of trash or plastic bottles that might be laying around, our parks would be cleaner. Kudos to our amazing Parks & Recreation crews who already do an outstanding job of keeping our facilities clean.

Picking up trash and plastic stops it from getting into our lakes, rivers and waterways. And, it keeps local animals healthy by maintaining clean habitats.

Recycle Plastic in Loveland

The City of Loveland Public Works Department accepts plastics labeled #1-7 as part of the City-wide recycling program. Plastics must be empty; no liquids please.

  • Bottles and jugs #1-7
  • Plastic tubs and containers #1-7
  • Prescription bottles
  • Clear clamshell containers

Remember, each one of us can make an impact where we live. Do your part for Earth Day!
