- The Cattail Creek golf course is a 9-hole par 3 golf course.
While not easy, the course has shorter-length holes that can be friendlier to a beginner. Also, the course can be walked without too much effort. The best place to practice your skills, however, is on the driving ranges, putting greens and other practice areas. You can also play the 18-hole courses during times that are not as characteristically busy such as a Sunday afternoon or during twilight after 3:30. Also, The Olde Course at Loveland offers a mini-round during the summer that begins at 7:00 p.m. This time is especially designed for those new to the game, those players golfing as a family, or those who just want a quick, short round. Only 3 - 5 holes are played during the mini-round.
The Loveland golf courses are here to assist you with your journey towards enjoying a lifetime of golf whether you’re a youngster or just a young at heart. You can find the following at all three of the golf courses: Mariana Butte, The Olde Course at Loveland and Cattail Creek.
- Group or private lesson instruction for various levels from the "I’ve never held a club before" to the "could you just help me with this one thing".
- Practice areas that allow you to try out your skills before getting on the actual course. These areas can include putting greens, driving ranges and chipping areas.
- Set of clubs that you can rent for your golf round - saving you an upfront investment until you’re ready.
- When you are ready to make your golf club purchase, our pro shops offer a wide selection of equipment and have qualified personnel that can help you select the type of clubs that are just right for you.

- All of the courses are set up with multiple colored courses or “teeing” areas. As a beginner do not be afraid to play from the forward tees – usually colored yellow and red. Golf is way more enjoyable when you play from the tees that fit your current abilities instead of struggling through playing from the extended yardage tees.
- We ask that all golfers report to the pro shop at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time. This allows plenty of time for check-in, perhaps a little warm up on the range, and then arrival at the 1st tee.
- You can register for the tee time systems by completing the Tee Time ID Form online, by visiting the courses and completing a registration form, or by downloading the brochure and mail-in registration form here: Registration Form.
In order to book your times online, you need to go through a simple “First Time Web Users” registration to validate your number for the on line tee time system.
