The Loveland Police Department hosts a Citizens’ Academy each fall. The 2018 Citizens' Academy will meet on Wednesday evenings from September 5, 2018 - November 14, 2018 (with the exception of October 31) from 6-9pm in the Police Institute at 810 East Tenth Street.
The Citizen Police Academy is an important component of the Police Department's commitment to building and maintaining strong community relationships with the citizens we serve. The classes will be an interactive engagement among our police employees and community members to enhance understanding and support in our effort to reduce crime and fear of crime, improve traffic safety, and educate the community.
Our staff will present classes in conjunction with regional partners to cover such topics as patrol operations, investigations, crime scene processing, SWAT, K-9, Bomb Squad, use of force and citizen/police interactions.
Due to the adult content of some of the presentations, we ask that participants: be 18 years of age and older, live, work or volunteer in the City of Loveland, have no felony convictions, no significant or recent misdemeanor convictions, successfully complete a background check including local, State, and National police records, are willing to complete a Waiver of Liability and commit to attend all of the sessions.
