My name is Benito Avitia.  I was born and raised in Northern California and I moved to Colorado about 25 years ago.  I have been with the Loveland Police Department since 2000.

I had the opportunity to be a School Resource Officer for 5 years before at Bill Reed Middle School and Conrad Ball Middle School.

I am glad to be returning as an SRO this year and I will be at Bill Reed Middle.

I have had a few collateral assignments such as Liquor Enforcement and Explorer Advisor.  Currently my sole collateral assignment is being on the negotiations team.

Through my previous experience as an SRO I learned the importance of having a good working relationship with the students, the school staff and the parents.  I look forward to renewing those relationships.
