According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, “In Colorado in 2004, 96 teen drivers and passengers ages 16 to 20, died in traffic crashes. Nearly 2/3 of the teenage victims were not using seat belts and nearly 80% of the teen passengers who died were in crashes that involved teen drivers.”

Driving is not a right; it is a privilege and responsibility for teenagers. This information should help you understand the new graduated licensing requirements, give you some facts and figures related to teenage driving, and provide you information to equip young drivers in our community.
