Leader's Bike Ride

Leaders Ride 2018

On October 12, more than 40 local and state decision-makers rode their bikes from Fort Collins to Loveland to learn about and celebrate the newly constructed Long View Trail, a 4.4 mile stretch of recreational trail that connects Fort Collins to Loveland through Larimer County. The Leaders’ Ride welcomed Colorado leaders, including state elected officials and local elected officials to ride along the trail and hear from local experts how the trail was constructed and how communities can continue to improve access to non-motorized transportation across the region and state.

Walking Safety

Pedestrian safety is top-of-mind!

Nationally, 205 people are injured or killed while walking every day! See the video below by Street Smart on the dangers of being distracted.

Non-motorized Transportation
Using non-motorized transportation improves air quality, energy independence, health, and quality of life.
Child on bike with helmetThe City of Loveland encourages bicycling and walking for transportation and recreation by striving to make bicycling and walking increasingly safe, accessible, convenient, and enjoyable. Bicycle and pedestrian facilities are being expanded and improved in an effort to provide a top-notch non-motorized system.

We invite you to incorporate the beautiful Colorado outdoors into your daily routine by walking or bicycle-commuting to work, shopping, and errands. If we can improve your walking or bicycling experience please let us know.  To view more information about the City Recreation Trail, you may visit the following web page:  www.cityofloveland.org/trails
