The City of Loveland Parks & Recreation
Department maintains 32 parks/recreation areas containing 22
softball fields, 8 baseball fields, 3 inline hockey rinks, 2 skate park
areas, 21 outdoor tennis courts, 10 outdoor basketball courts, 26
playgrounds, 16f reservable picnic shelters/pavilions, and 2 gazebos. There
is also the indoor recreation facilities at the Chilson Recreation Center
amongst other community amenities. Loveland residents don't have to look
far for fun places to go in their City!
Park Hours
Most parks are open from 6:00am-10:30pm daily, unless
otherwise specified on site.
However, the Viestenz-Smith
Mountain Park and the Loveland Sports Park hours vary, depending on the season. Please call for more
information.
Park Rules &
Regulations
1. All posted rules and regulations must be obeyed.
2. No glass containers or bottles in the parks.
3. No Open flames (such as candles, tiki torches, etc.) except in
park provided grills. No open flames are allowed if fire ban is in
effect. No gathering or cutting firewood.
4. No stakes are to be driven into the ground more than 6" for any
reason (irrigation lines are present).
5. No vehicles are to be driven or parked on turf or grass at
any time. Violators may have reservation deposits withheld, and additional
turf repair charges may
apply.
6. No Jump Castles, Dunk Tanks, Pony Rides, or other similar
set-ups at the parks.
7. Noise ordinance strictly enforced (amplifiers, stereos, etc.) by the
Loveland Police Department. Violators may be ticketed/fined, or removed
from premises at the discretion of the LPD.
8. Alcoholic beverages are allowed at facilities only with a special Alcohol Permit.
Permit must be purchased in conjunction with a Park Shelter Reservation
with an added fee/deposit.

9. Pets must be leashed and under human control at all times,
except in designated Dog Park enclosures where dogs may be off
leash. Dogs at the Dog Park enclosure must remain under voice
control. A leash is still required for arrival/departure at the dog
park, or if there are control issues in the dog park areas.
Please pick up after your pet. Some areas provide bags, but
bringing your own waste bag is suggested.
Pets are NOT Allowed:

inside the Barnes Park
Softball Complex or Batting Cage Facilities at Fairgrounds Park;
x
inside the Centennial Park
Baseball Complex or In-Line Hockey Rinks;
x
inside the Winona Pool &
Bathhouse areas;
x
at the Golf Courses or
Clubhouses;
x
at Jr. Achievement Park
Skate area;
x
at the Loveland Sports Park
In-Line Hockey Rinks, Skate Park area, Spray Park area, Basketball Courts, Volleyball
Courts, and Championship Field;
x
at the Fairgrounds Park
Skate Park area, Spray Park area, or Basketball Court;
x
within 100 feet of any other
athletic courts or fields while practices or games are being played in
the parks.
Exceptions:
Dogs trained to assist visually or hearing impaired
individuals are allowed in all park areas, but must be kept under direct supervision,
and cleaned up after as necessary.
10. No Overnight Camping.
11. No use of firearms or fireworks!
12. Failure to obey park closing times, allowing unruliness by intoxicated
members of the group, or harassment of park employees will warrant
forfeiture of all reservation deposits. Other measures may be taken,
depending on the severity of the infraction.-

Reservations are accepted
at
the Parks & Recreation Administration Office

Reservations are
taken for the current year beginning the first working day of the
year, and may be made
Monday thru Friday 8:00am-4:30pm (except on Designated Holidays)
They must be made at least three (3) business days
in advance for park shelters that
are within the City limits.
The Viestenz-Smith Park
areas must be reserved
at least seven (7) business days
in advance!
Reservation costs and deposits are dependant upon the
following:
- which area you are requesting/reserving
(fees vary by location)
- the total number of people you will be having at the
reservation/event. Please specify your group size when making your
reservation.
Some areas are very limited to small groups of 50 people or less,
due to limited parking or support facilities.
Larger groups must use areas such as Centennial Park, North Lake
Park, Kroh Park, or Fairgrounds Park.
Please call (970) 962-2727 to confirm the size of your group will be
allowed for your event/reservation location.
(Large group site impact fees and/or
deposits may be added)
- if you will need to purchase an alcohol permit in conjunction
with your reservation area.
(alcohol is not permitted
in parks without a permit)
- if your group is a non-profit organization, whereby a lower
reservation rate applies. Deposits remain the same for non-profit
groups.

Some facilities also have very limited parking. There is no
guarantee on the number of parking spaces available.
Carpooling or alternate forms of transportation are always
suggested when possible.
