School, Loveland High River Watch, Sylvan Dale Ranch, Big
Thompson Watershed, and numerous other Boy Scout, Girl
Scout, Cub Scout, and Brownie Troops . The volunteers
removed approximately 60 cubic yards amounting to nearly 5
tons of material from the waterways of Loveland. We want
to give special thanks to the organizations that supported
this year’s event: World Beverage, Tom’s of Maine, Whole
Foods of Fort Collins, JAX, All Terrain, City of Greeley,

This year's annual Fall Waterway
Clean-Up event (Big Thompson River Revival) took place
Saturday, September 26th. Weather was great, allowing
for a successful clean-up event. Approximately 190
students and adults volunteered their time to help clean up
along the Big Thompson River. Everyone gathered at
Fairgrounds Park and dispersed along the "Big T" toting
donated garbage bags. Some volunteers donned
waders and walked along the river collecting any garbage
they could find; other remained on the riverbank gathering
garbage from both the water and the vegetation along the
sides. To view pictures of this year's event, click

Last year 53 hardy
citizens braved the cold, damp and rainy conditions at the
Fall Waterway Clean-up Event better known as the Big
Thompson River Revival. Despite the foul weather and
the lower than anticipated participation the event which
took place between 10:00 a.m. and noon on Saturday, October
11th
was deemed successful by the organizers of the event.
A total of 2 ½ yards or close to 1 ton of trash was removed
from within and along the stream banks of the Big Thompson
River. The event was jointly sponsored by the City of
Loveland, Public Works, Stormwater Division and the Big
Thompson Watershed Forum. The trash was picked up and
properly disposed of by Parks staff.
